The history behind LSI

The story behind the brand

Lindsay Scott qualified as a physiotherapist from UCT in 1990 and spent the next 7 years gaining experience in all areas of physiotherapy both in SA and abroad. In 1997 Lindsay Scott became a partner in a Physiotherapist group that grew to include 13 practices, called Gorman and Scott.

Lindsay started the “Return to work “and work hardening practice at Libertas centre in Goodwood in the late 1990’s
Her passion for the holistic rehabilitation approach drove her to start out on her own and in August 2002 she registered her practice under the name “Workability” and opened up in Montague Gardens.

Lindsay employed an Occupational therapist, and they started specializing in Injury on Duty patients, and within 6 months they bought a vehicle, employed a driver, and started transporting patients that didn’t have their own transport.

On the 1st September 2004, the practice moved to the Point Business Park in Milnerton and has been there ever since.

In 2012 the name changed from Workability Inc to Lindsay Scott Inc, and a she formed a separate company called Workability Pty ltd with two partners, Mark Wilson and Martin Engel. This company was registered to do the quality assurance and case management with the support of an IT platform.

After a year of moving the unit around it, it was felt there was a need to service the Northern Suburbs and on 1st April 2012 the new branch of Lindsay Scott Inc was opened at Brackengate Business park in Brackenfell.
